Een eerste bericht uit Zuid-Sudan
Omschrijving:
Beste allemaal,
Voor wie nog niet (helemaal) op de hoogte is . . . Zoals ik in mijn vorige berichtgeving heb aangegeven, zou ik een maandje in Nederland vertoeven en daarna weer terug afreizen naar Nepal.
Inmiddels ben ik (7 weken later) nog steeds in Nederland. Heeeel even nog dan, want ik sta vrijwel letterlijk op het punt om weer op het vliegtuig te stappen (vertrek over een paar uur). . . . Helaas echter niet op een vliegtuig met eindbestemming Nepal . . . , maar met een heeel andere eindbestemming . . . namelijk, Zuid-Sudan . . . duuus . . . . huh?! Das wel ff wat anders . . . Tjah, klopt!
Reden is dat de situatie in Nepal en/of de werkzaamheden van Medair in Nepal over de laatste periode sterk zijn veranderd. De eerste 6 maanden na de aardbevingen stond de hulpverlening in Nepal in het teken van het verlenen van noodhulp en/of het distribueren van noodhulpgoederen (shelter, hygiene, sanitation). Na deze periode heeft er een verschuiving plaatsgevonden en is de nadruk steeds meer komen te liggen op hulp gericht op duurzaam herstel en/of het trainen van de lokale bevolking op het gebied van het bouwen van aardbeving bestendige woningen. Daarmee is de intensiviteit in distributie en/of logistieke werkzaamheden gaandeweg enorm afgenomen, en op dit moment is er in Nepal voldoende logistieke staf aanwezig die de werkzaamheden die nog gedaan moeten worden, kunnen opvangen.
Kortom, Medair zag er om deze reden geen toegevoegde waarde in om mij terug te sturen naar Nepal en wenste mij graag zsm op een ander project te plaatsen. Sinds mijn aankomst in Nederland ben ik in gesprek geweest met het Medair hoofdkantoor over een mogelijke positie in Zuid-Sudan. Met ingang van as. maandag ga ik aan het werk als Logistic Transport Manager in Juba (hoofdstad Zuid-Sudan) voor in principe een periode van 12 maanden. . . . .

Tot slot, aan een ieder die ik de afgelopen maand heb mogen zien en/of soms vanaf de andere kant van het land de moeite heeft gedaan om mij te komen bezoeken, of anderzins mijn verbijf een stuk aangenamer heeft gemaakt, mijn dank is GROOT!!! Ik ga jullie allemaal opnieuw weer missen, maar jullie hebben mij weer voldoende energie gegeven voor weer een heel nieuw avontuur, of wellicht is uitdaging in dit kader een beter woord.

Een eerste bericht uit Zuid-Sudan
Omschrijving:
Beste allemaal,
Voor wie nog niet (helemaal) op de hoogte is . . . Zoals ik in mijn vorige berichtgeving heb aangegeven, zou ik een maandje in Nederland vertoeven en daarna weer terug afreizen naar Nepal.
Inmiddels ben ik (7 weken later) nog steeds in Nederland. Heeeel even nog dan, want ik sta vrijwel letterlijk op het punt om weer op het vliegtuig te stappen (vertrek over een paar uur). . . . Helaas echter niet op een vliegtuig met eindbestemming Nepal . . . , maar met een heeel andere eindbestemming . . . namelijk, Zuid-Sudan . . . duuus . . . . huh?! Das wel ff wat anders . . . Tjah, klopt!
Reden is dat de situatie in Nepal en/of de werkzaamheden van Medair in Nepal over de laatste periode sterk zijn veranderd. De eerste 6 maanden na de aardbevingen stond de hulpverlening in Nepal in het teken van het verlenen van noodhulp en/of het distribueren van noodhulpgoederen (shelter, hygiene, sanitation). Na deze periode heeft er een verschuiving plaatsgevonden en is de nadruk steeds meer komen te liggen op hulp gericht op duurzaam herstel en/of het trainen van de lokale bevolking op het gebied van het bouwen van aardbeving bestendige woningen. Daarmee is de intensiviteit in distributie en/of logistieke werkzaamheden gaandeweg enorm afgenomen, en op dit moment is er in Nepal voldoende logistieke staf aanwezig die de werkzaamheden die nog gedaan moeten worden, kunnen opvangen.
Kortom, Medair zag er om deze reden geen toegevoegde waarde in om mij terug te sturen naar Nepal en wenste mij graag zsm op een ander project te plaatsen. Sinds mijn aankomst in Nederland ben ik in gesprek geweest met het Medair hoofdkantoor over een mogelijke positie in Zuid-Sudan. Met ingang van as. maandag ga ik aan het werk als Logistic Transport Manager in Juba (hoofdstad Zuid-Sudan) voor in principe een periode van 12 maanden. . . . .

Tot slot, aan een ieder die ik de afgelopen maand heb mogen zien en/of soms vanaf de andere kant van het land de moeite heeft gedaan om mij te komen bezoeken, of anderzins mijn verbijf een stuk aangenamer heeft gemaakt, mijn dank is GROOT!!! Ik ga jullie allemaal opnieuw weer missen, maar jullie hebben mij weer voldoende energie gegeven voor weer een heel nieuw avontuur, of wellicht is uitdaging in dit kader een beter woord.

Een eerste bericht uit Zuid-Sudan
Omschrijving:
Beste allemaal,
Voor wie nog niet (helemaal) op de hoogte is . . . Zoals ik in mijn vorige berichtgeving heb aangegeven, zou ik een maandje in Nederland vertoeven en daarna weer terug afreizen naar Nepal.
Inmiddels ben ik (7 weken later) nog steeds in Nederland. Heeeel even nog dan, want ik sta vrijwel letterlijk op het punt om weer op het vliegtuig te stappen (vertrek over een paar uur). . . . Helaas echter niet op een vliegtuig met eindbestemming Nepal . . . , maar met een heeel andere eindbestemming . . . namelijk, Zuid-Sudan . . . duuus . . . . huh?! Das wel ff wat anders . . . Tjah, klopt!
Reden is dat de situatie in Nepal en/of de werkzaamheden van Medair in Nepal over de laatste periode sterk zijn veranderd. De eerste 6 maanden na de aardbevingen stond de hulpverlening in Nepal in het teken van het verlenen van noodhulp en/of het distribueren van noodhulpgoederen (shelter, hygiene, sanitation). Na deze periode heeft er een verschuiving plaatsgevonden en is de nadruk steeds meer komen te liggen op hulp gericht op duurzaam herstel en/of het trainen van de lokale bevolking op het gebied van het bouwen van aardbeving bestendige woningen. Daarmee is de intensiviteit in distributie en/of logistieke werkzaamheden gaandeweg enorm afgenomen, en op dit moment is er in Nepal voldoende logistieke staf aanwezig die de werkzaamheden die nog gedaan moeten worden, kunnen opvangen.
Kortom, Medair zag er om deze reden geen toegevoegde waarde in om mij terug te sturen naar Nepal en wenste mij graag zsm op een ander project te plaatsen. Sinds mijn aankomst in Nederland ben ik in gesprek geweest met het Medair hoofdkantoor over een mogelijke positie in Zuid-Sudan. Met ingang van as. maandag ga ik aan het werk als Logistic Transport Manager in Juba (hoofdstad Zuid-Sudan) voor in principe een periode van 12 maanden. . . . .

Tot slot, aan een ieder die ik de afgelopen maand heb mogen zien en/of soms vanaf de andere kant van het land de moeite heeft gedaan om mij te komen bezoeken, of anderzins mijn verbijf een stuk aangenamer heeft gemaakt, mijn dank is GROOT!!! Ik ga jullie allemaal opnieuw weer missen, maar jullie hebben mij weer voldoende energie gegeven voor weer een heel nieuw avontuur, of wellicht is uitdaging in dit kader een beter woord.

Een eerste bericht uit Zuid-Sudan
Omschrijving:
Beste allemaal,
Voor wie nog niet (helemaal) op de hoogte is . . . Zoals ik in mijn vorige berichtgeving heb aangegeven, zou ik een maandje in Nederland vertoeven en daarna weer terug afreizen naar Nepal.
Inmiddels ben ik (7 weken later) nog steeds in Nederland. Heeeel even nog dan, want ik sta vrijwel letterlijk op het punt om weer op het vliegtuig te stappen (vertrek over een paar uur). . . . Helaas echter niet op een vliegtuig met eindbestemming Nepal . . . , maar met een heeel andere eindbestemming . . . namelijk, Zuid-Sudan . . . duuus . . . . huh?! Das wel ff wat anders . . . Tjah, klopt!
Reden is dat de situatie in Nepal en/of de werkzaamheden van Medair in Nepal over de laatste periode sterk zijn veranderd. De eerste 6 maanden na de aardbevingen stond de hulpverlening in Nepal in het teken van het verlenen van noodhulp en/of het distribueren van noodhulpgoederen (shelter, hygiene, sanitation). Na deze periode heeft er een verschuiving plaatsgevonden en is de nadruk steeds meer komen te liggen op hulp gericht op duurzaam herstel en/of het trainen van de lokale bevolking op het gebied van het bouwen van aardbeving bestendige woningen. Daarmee is de intensiviteit in distributie en/of logistieke werkzaamheden gaandeweg enorm afgenomen, en op dit moment is er in Nepal voldoende logistieke staf aanwezig die de werkzaamheden die nog gedaan moeten worden, kunnen opvangen.
Kortom, Medair zag er om deze reden geen toegevoegde waarde in om mij terug te sturen naar Nepal en wenste mij graag zsm op een ander project te plaatsen. Sinds mijn aankomst in Nederland ben ik in gesprek geweest met het Medair hoofdkantoor over een mogelijke positie in Zuid-Sudan. Met ingang van as. maandag ga ik aan het werk als Logistic Transport Manager in Juba (hoofdstad Zuid-Sudan) voor in principe een periode van 12 maanden. . . . .

Ik ga jullie allemaal opnieuw weer missen, maar jullie hebben mij weer voldoende energie gegeven voor weer een heel nieuw avontuur, of wellicht is uitdaging in dit kader een beter woord.

Beste allemaal,
Voor wie nog niet (helemaal) op de hoogte is . . . Zoals ik in mijn vorige berichtgeving heb aangegeven, zou ik een maandje in Nederland vertoeven en daarna weer terug afreizen naar Nepal.
Inmiddels ben ik (7 weken later) nog steeds in Nederland. Heeeel even nog dan, want ik sta vrijwel letterlijk op het punt om weer op het vliegtuig te stappen (vertrek over een paar uur). . . . Helaas echter niet op een vliegtuig met eindbestemming Nepal . . . , maar met een heeel andere eindbestemming . . . namelijk, Zuid-Sudan . . . duuus . . . . huh?! Das wel ff wat anders . . . Tjah, klopt!
Reden is dat de situatie in Nepal en/of de werkzaamheden van Medair in Nepal over de laatste periode sterk zijn veranderd. De eerste 6 maanden na de aardbevingen stond de hulpverlening in Nepal in het teken van het verlenen van noodhulp en/of het distribueren van noodhulpgoederen (shelter, hygiene, sanitation). Na deze periode heeft er een verschuiving plaatsgevonden en is de nadruk steeds meer komen te liggen op hulp gericht op duurzaam herstel en/of het trainen van de lokale bevolking op het gebied van het bouwen van aardbeving bestendige woningen. Daarmee is de intensiviteit in distributie en/of logistieke werkzaamheden gaandeweg enorm afgenomen, en op dit moment is er in Nepal voldoende logistieke staf aanwezig die de werkzaamheden die nog gedaan moeten worden, kunnen opvangen.
Kortom, Medair zag er om deze reden geen toegevoegde waarde in om mij terug te sturen naar Nepal en wenste mij graag zsm op een ander project te plaatsen. Sinds mijn aankomst in Nederland ben ik in gesprek geweest met het Medair hoofdkantoor over een mogelijke positie in Zuid-Sudan. Met ingang van as. maandag ga ik aan het werk als Logistic Transport Manager in Juba (hoofdstad Zuid-Sudan) voor in principe een periode van 12 maanden. . . . .

Ik ga jullie allemaal opnieuw weer missen, maar jullie hebben mij weer voldoende energie gegeven voor weer een heel nieuw avontuur, of wellicht is uitdaging in dit kader een beter woord.
